about katja

Hello! I am Katja, a German-American secondary school teacher turned birth and postpartum doula. Growing up with a mom who is a doula and lactation consultant, I’ve always felt a deep connection to the birthing process. After the birth of my son, I decided to switch careers and empower and educate families in their birthing and postpartum experiences. As a doula, I combine my background in education with a nurturing, empathetic approach to help families feel confident and supported every step of the way.

I have completed training with DONA International and will be officially certified in 2025.

When I’m not supporting families, you’ll likely find me hiking with my family and pup around the Sonoran Desert, trying new recipes, and traveling and exploring new places, foods and cultures!

Whether you're preparing for labor, navigating the early days of parenthood, or needing postpartum support, I’m here to provide the evidence-based information, care, and compassion you deserve. It’s an honor to be part of your journey, and I’m committed to ensuring that your birth and postpartum experiences are empowering and positive!
